About Us

Our Goal is to Empower You in Your Healthcare Decisions

HealthStrategix consultants are physicians who take the time to counsel clients about new or changing complex medical conditions that may be treated by multiple physician specialists, therapists, or other health care providers. Some information may seem conflicting from multiple doctors. I am here to clarify and reassure you.

Why choose this approach?

Healthcare has not only become more advanced, but less personal. Both physicians & patients feel that they do not have enough time to spend with each other.I want to be that bridge to strengthen your medical relationships.

Expertise & Experience

As a physician with over 20 years of experience, I can discuss any condition. If your condition is a rare one, I will take the time to research your condition and the most state of the art treatments that are available.

Open-ended Approach

Healthcare is a journey with many unexpected detours and obstacles. Iuse an open-ended and fluid approach as I know your initial goals of consultation may change and I acknowledge and encourage that fact.

Personalized Care

Everybody has a unique health situation and there is no template that fits everyone. Below you will see a list of services I offer. Undoubtedly you may have needs that I have not considered. YOU are in charge! If I can help I will.

I make seemingly complex medical situations easily understandable

My role is to empower you with knowledge and help you feel confident in your healthcare choices. I'll walk you through the pros and cons of your available options, helping you understand what matters most for your goals and specific situation.

Together, we'll also sharpen your questions so that when you meet with your medical team, you maximize every appointment. You'll walk into those visits prepared, informed, and ready to have meaningful conversations that move your care forward.

The goal is simple: you leave our discussions feeling empowered and reassured, equipped with the clarity you need to advocate for yourself.

Rare Medical Diagnosis

When you or a loved one is diagnosed with a rare condition it can be daunting. The more rare the condition, the more likely you will encounter physicians who know less about the disease than you do. I will help you learn how to search the medical literature and evaluate current practices and treatment.

I Am Here for the Family

Even if you are not the patient, any new diagnosis affects everyone close to you as well. Especially those who are in your household. I am not a counselor but I do recognize and encourage everyone who has questions, no matter how insignificant to be involved in this process.

Stress and Anxiety

It is normal to feel stress and anxiety when confronted with a new condition that you know little to nothing about. I will decrease that stress by educating you on what you are facing so you become more confident in guiding your care.

Our Customers Say About Us

My husband was diagnosed with atrial fibrillation after a fainting spell and I was terrified, especially since he already has the HLA-B27 gene mutation. Our cardiologist mentioned inflammation but didn't explain that it could be connected to the gene. Dr. Terrell helped me understand how autoimmune conditions can affect the heart and prepared me with specific questions about whether my husband's HLA-B27 status changes his AFib management or not. At our next appointment, I could ask much more important questions.
Cheryl T

When my dad was hospitalized with viral meningitis, we were getting information from the ER doctor, neurologist, infectious disease specialist, and hospitalist - but none of it made sense together. One said his spinal fluid looked good, another mentioned inflammation markers, and someone else talked about antiviral medications. Dr. Terrell helped me understand what each specialist was focusing on and how viral meningitis differs from bacterial. He coached me on specific questions to ask about my dad's cognitive function, expected recovery timeline, and more.

Meet Dr. Tabu

I'm a physician who's taken an unconventional path, and I believe that's made me a better advocate for my patients.

My medical foundation is solid – degree from the University of Illinois, medical school at Vanderbilt, and Emergency Medicine residency at Indiana University. I spent 14 years as a board-certified Emergency Physician, combining clinical expertise with genuine empathy under pressure.

Then I made some unconventional moves. I owned and operated a craft brewery, learning to build something meaningful from scratch. Later, I became a full-time stay-at-home dad which was an experience that profoundly shaped my perspective on what really matters.

Now that my children are more independent, I'm returning to medicine with renewed purpose. What drove me away wasn't patient care – it was a system more focused on efficiency than human connection. That time away gave me clarity about the kind of physician I want to be.

I understand the frustration of navigating impersonal healthcare, leaving appointments with more questions than answers, or feeling like just another number.

Whether you're managing complex health issues, making sense of conflicting specialist advice, or simply need a physician who will truly listen, I'm here to partner with you. Together, we can bring clarity, compassion, and real advocacy back to your healthcare experience.

What Happens Next?

We start with a free discovery session, where we discuss your health, your goals, and let you decide if our services match your needs. This session scheduled for 15 minutes.

After our consultation, we'll establish a fee for a retainer that covers my research into your situation and our follow-up discussion. The amount reflects your case's complexity. Straightforward issues will need less time, while complex cases will require deeper investigation.

I operate independently of insurance networks, giving you a key advantage: completely unbiased, patient-centered guidance. Without insurance or hospital constraints, I can focus entirely on what's best for your unique situation and educate you about the most important aspects of your care without worrying about coverage or time limitations.
